2nd International Conference on Children’s Rights 2025 – Day 1

The Cyberculture Foundation was honoured to be part of the 2nd International Conference on Children’s Rights 2025, which took place earlier this week at Stellenbosch University.

It was an inspiring gathering of experts, advocates, and policymakers, all united in the mission to protect and promote the rights of children, both online and offline.

Day 1 of the 2nd International Conference on Children’s Rights 2025 was a powerful reminder of the urgent need to protect children in the digital world.

Our founder, Prof. Noluxolo Gcaza, had the honour of chairing Session 3A: Cross-Cutting Themes, where discussions spanned online sexual violence, cybercrime, armed recruitment, and the gaps in law and policy. The insights shared by passionate speakers from across the globe were inspiring:

Katherine Butler & Taydren van Vuren
Chukwuemeka Monyei
Margaret Zulu
Liline Steyn
Dr. Linda Mushoriwa

What stood out most was the collective commitment to creating safer spaces for children, online and offline. It was a session that left us hopeful, proving that meaningful change is possible when knowledge, policy, and advocacy come together.
